Wow, I have not posted in a long time. I have just finished my university exams, and I have brought a whole lot of new gear. I am now the proud new owner of a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6, a Canon 580EX, and a Manfrotto Magic Arm (as the first part of my car rig set).
I have photographed a number of cars between then and now, and been to a number of shows. here is a teaser for most of them:
Muscle Car Masters 2008:
The Toymods car forum Mega Cruise 2008, of which I only went to the initial meet, due to prior commitments, but which many amazing cars attended, including this early model Toyota Celica:

I photographed a 1953 Holden RSL Taxi for Australian Classic Cars recently. It was quite amazing, with many period taxi cab extras, including penny tray, and meter:
I also attended the 2008 National Supersprint Championship, which was pretty amazing:

I have also had a whole lot of my film developed and scanned:

Hello everyone, long time no posting.
Well, I've been a fairly busy boy lately, as I have done several more photo shoots, been to several events, and even brought a new camera.
Yes, I am the proud owner of a brand new Canon 40D; 10.1MP, 6.5 frames per second, for up to 75 in a burst, and a massive screen. Major improvement over the tired old 300D. It is a mere several days old, and has already fired off over 500 frames, hows that!!
Anyway, photo shoots first; I have done a couple of Ford Capri's for the anniversary next year:
There was also one of the first Toyota Celica's to come into Australia:
Unfortunately I can't post too many photos of these cars, as they have not appeared in the magazine yet, but as soon as they have I will post a link to the rest of them.
Now for the events, I went to the All Ford Club display day, one of the biggest all ford days in Australia. There was some amazing cars that turned up, including a Phase IV GT-HO; the '160mph supercar'. There was also several racing cars, and a number of impressive show cars. Here is a link to all the photos, with a small selection below:
I also made an appearance at the Shannon's Classic at Eastern Creek, which seems to get larger and larger every year. Here is a link to the photos, with a small selection below:
Look out for more updates in the coming weeks.

Drift Nationals, and Super Lap
Hello everyone,
I recently attended the Drift Nationals held at Eastern Creek on the 28th of June. It was a great event, and my first time photographing a drift event, and using my new telephoto lens. I thought it was a great event, and that the photos turned out great. Check them out here: Drift National Photos
Here are a few of the best:
I also went to the premiere SuperLap event at Oran Park on the 5th of July. It is a time trial attack, similar to those held in the USA and Japan. It was an amazing event, with some amazing cars turning out. I have never seen cars fly past me faster than I have at this event, it was utterly amazing. The guys in the Hi Octane R32 GTR were quickest right behind the two series 1 Exige's, which is quiet a feat, considering weight and aero differences. The R35 GTR also made an appearance, doing a 1:17 on semi-slicks, amazing considering the fastest was 1:12 done by the Exige (all the times are here). Here are the photos from the event: SuperLap Photos

Sydney City by night; Urban photography
Hello fellow bloggers,
Tonight I went out with some friends into the city to take some photos. I used this opportunity to work further on my urban photography skills. It was somewhat more difficult in the night, but it posed an interesting challenge, and I think the results turned out very well, with the softness, and noise adding to the character of the photograph.
I hope you enjoy them: http://flickr.com/photos/modena_photo/sets/72157605828250853/

New photos and equipment
This week has been pretty big for me, with my last week of exams, but also with the addition of a new lens; a Canon 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 IS. It is a very very good lens, one of the best you can get, and should help me to improve the quality of my photos taken at the race track.
I have also had my first attempt at photographing a motor bike today, supplied by my good friend Chris. He has a Hyosung GT250R. It was great practice, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Enjoy the results (all the images can be found on my Flickr site: http://flickr.com/photos/modena_photo)
